After the cancellation of the Chinese Grand Prix, the expectation to return to Portugal was high and, according to the media, the probability of that happening was strong. However, after the World Council of the International Automobile Federation (FIA) it became known that the 2023 calendar will feature 23 Grands Prix and the Chinese race will not be replaced.
