Tottenham secured a 2-2 draw against Brentford in their Premier League season opener, marking their first match after the departure of the iconic Harry Kane, the club’s all-time top scorer, who recently signed with Bayern Munich.

Under the guidance of Australian coach Ange Postecoglou (formerly with Celtic), Tottenham initially took the lead as Cristian Romero scored in the 11th minute. However, Brentford managed to turn the tables before halftime with goals from Bryan Mbeumo (26′ penalty) and Yoane Wissa (36′).

Just before the break, Emerson Royal (45+1′) netted a goal that allowed Tottenham to go into halftime level. This score remained unchanged in the second half. Spanish full-back Pedro Porro, previously with Sporting, was an unused substitute.

It was a challenging start for Tottenham in the Premier League, particularly as they prepare to host Manchester United, led by Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot. On the other hand, Brentford is set to face Fulham, managed by Marco Silva, in their upcoming away match.
