Real Madrid made their debut today in the Spanish football league with a victory on a traditionally challenging field, San Mamés, prevailing 2-0 against Athletic Bilbao, thanks to a strong start that secured them the advantage at halftime.

The first goal came at the 28-minute mark, courtesy of Brazilian player Rodrygo, following an assist from right-back Dani Carvajal. The second goal arrived at the 36th minute, scored by English international Jude Bellingham, for whom Real Madrid paid 103 million euros to Borussia Dortmund this summer.

In another match today from the first round, Real Sociedad, set to participate in the Champions League, faced an unexpected draw at home against Girona, finishing 1-1. Japanese forward Kubo Takefusa opened the scoring for the Basque team just five minutes into the game, while Ukrainian forward Artem Dovbyk restored parity for the Catalans at the 72nd minute.

A similar outcome was seen in the match between Las Palmas and Mallorca, as the home team took the lead at the 29th minute through a penalty converted by Jonathan Viera. The visitors managed to level the score at 1-1 with a goal from António Raillo, who had come on after halftime, at the 70th minute.
