Lionel Messi’s excellence is evident to such an extent that even the official MLS account is sharing compilations showcasing his remarkable skills.

Continuing his impressive debut with Inter Miami in the MLS, the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner displayed his exceptional form by scoring his ninth goal in six games as Inter Miami triumphed over Philadelphia Union, advancing to the Leagues Cup final.

The scoring began with Josef Martinez netting in the third minute, followed by Messi’s goal in the 20th minute, marking his sixth consecutive game with a goal.

In a mesmerizing moment, the Argentine legend collected the ball around 30 yards from the goal and effortlessly struck it past Jamaican goalkeeper Andre Blake, while defenders hesitated to challenge him.

Adding to the first-half scoreline, longtime Barcelona teammate Jordi Alba secured a 3-0 lead in stoppage time, and David Ruiz added another goal in the 84th minute, after Alejandro Bedoya scored a consolation goal for the hosts.

Once again, the 36-year-old’s highlights provided captivating viewing. Despite an ankle injury sustained during training, Messi commanded the game, orchestrating plays and consistently outwitting defenders who attempted to dispossess him after he maneuvered them out of position.

Messi, visibly enjoying his time on the field with his new club, played the entire 90 minutes and clinched the Man of the Match award for the fifth time since joining Inter.

Miami’s coach, Gerardo Martino, stated, “Our objective was to secure a spot in international competition for the upcoming season, and we’ve accomplished that.”

He further added, “Now, we must gear up to win this tournament, a prospect that fills us with motivation and confidence.”

The league’s official account shared a video recap of Messi’s splendid performance with the caption: “Repeatedly impressive. Six games, six victories, nine goals. Relive Leo Messi’s latest stellar performance in @LeaguesCup action.”

Despite not yet playing in the MLS, Messi has already become the joint-top scorer for the season in his club.

In a historic moment, Martino’s team will contend for their first-ever championship title against Nashville at Geodis Park on Sunday, providing Captain Messi with a splendid opportunity to expand his already remarkable collection of trophies in what will be his 42nd final appearance.

Regardless of the outcome, Inter has already secured a place in next season’s Concacaf Champions Cup regional tournament, a feat that underscores their strong performance.

Manager Martino reiterated, “Our aim was to secure a berth in international competition for the next season, and we have achieved that.”

He concluded, “Now, our focus shifts to winning this tournament, and our confidence and determination are at an all-time high.”
