Fulham, led by Portuguese coach Marco Silva, began their Premier League campaign on a high note by securing a 1-0 victory in their away match against Everton.

Despite missing Portuguese international João Palhinha due to injury, Bobby Reid scored the lone goal that earned three points for the Cottagers in the match. Interestingly, on the opposing side, there was another Portuguese presence with goalkeeper João Virgínia, formerly of Sporting, on the Everton bench as a substitute.

The spotlight also falls on Brighton, the sensation of the previous Premier League season, as they convincingly defeated newcomer Luton 4-1, signaling their intention to maintain the high level of performance displayed in the previous campaign.

Crystal Palace followed suit, so to speak, echoing Fulham’s success with a 1-0 away victory against Sheffield United, a team newly promoted from the Championship. Meanwhile, Bournemouth hosted West Ham in a match that ended in a 1-1 draw.
