FC Porto secured a 2-1 victory against Moreirense on Monday in their opening match of the championship season. The game saw goals and excitement primarily in the second half.
Moreirense took the lead first, with Frimpong scoring in the 51st minute. This followed an engaging first half where Moreirense surprisingly came closer to scoring through Kodisang in the 43rd minute.
However, FC Porto managed to turn the game around. Toni Martínez, who came off the bench at halftime, scored in the 67th minute, and Wendell added another goal in the 74th minute.
In the remaining part of the match, FC Porto retreated and held onto their advantage, allowing Moreirense to take the initiative, especially after Wendell’s red card in the 90+3rd minute.
The match also marked the debut of Nico González, FC Porto’s new signing from Barcelona. He entered the field in the 70th minute, replacing Romário Baró, who had to leave the field due to injury.
