Premier League: Wolverhampton Suffers Defeat Against Brighton in Premier League Clash

Wolverhampton suffered another defeat on Saturday, this time against Brighton (1-4) in the 2nd round of the Premier League. The Wolves are now at the bottom of the standings after a nightmare afternoon at Molineux.

José Sá, Nélson Semedo, Pedro Neto, Matheus, and Fábio Silva were in the starting lineup, but they couldn’t withstand the strong performance of the Seagulls. Mitoma opened the scoring at the 16th minute, giving the visitors the lead. Wolverhampton tried to react in the first half, but everything fell apart after halftime. At the start of the second half, Brighton accelerated and scored three goals in… 10 minutes: Estupiñán (46′), March (52′ and 55′) sealed the game.

Despite the heavy defeat, the Wolves didn’t give up and managed to reduce the gap with a goal from substitute Hee-Chan (62′).

However, Wolverhampton’s struggles continued as Matheus Nunes received a red card and they ended up with 10 players on the field due to accumulating yellow cards.

With this result, Wolverhampton suffers its second defeat in as many games in the Premier League, landing them at the bottom of the standings. On the other hand, Brighton temporarily takes the lead with six points out of a possible six.
