Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic won their respective semifinal matches and will compete for the title at the Cincinnati Masters 1000 in the United States.
The two highest-ranked players in the ATP ranking will face off again over a month after the Wimbledon final, won by Alcaraz, and over two months after the Roland Garros semifinal, where Djokovic came out on top.
In the semifinals, the Spanish world number one overcame Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz (ATP 20th) with a victory of 2-6, 7-6 (7-4), and 6-3 in a match that lasted two hours and 19 minutes, securing his first appearance in the Cincinnati final.
Meanwhile, the Serbian number two defeated Germany’s Alexander Zverev (ATP 17th) 7-6 (7-5) and 7-5 in two hours and six minutes. Djokovic will now be participating in his eighth final in the tournament that he previously won in 2018 and 2020.
