Luton Town fell to their third defeat of the season against in form West Ham United on Friday night, despite an improved performance. A revamped Kenilworth Road was rocking for its debut in the Premier League, but the Hammers proved too strong for Rob Edwards’ side, leaving with all three points.
Jarrod Bowen put David Moyes’ side in front midway through the first half, and Kurt Zouma seemed to take the game beyond the Hatters when he headed in a James Ward-Prowse corner just five minutes from time. However, Mads Andersen gave the Town hope when he headed home deep into stoppage time, before the Hatters were denied a clear penalty in the final seconds when VAR failed to spot a handball in the West Ham penalty area.
