Daniil Medvedev defeated Carlos Alcaraz and will face Novak Djokovic in the final of the US Open in tennis.
The Russian, ranked number 3 in the world, defeated the Spanish player, the leader of the ATP rankings, in four sets with scores of 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, and 6-3, setting up a rematch with the Serbian in the Flushing Meadows final, the same stage where Medvedev won in 2021 with a triple 6-4 victory.
Djokovic, who will become the new number 1 in the world on Monday, overcame the American Ben Shelton in his semifinal with scores of 6-3, 6-2, and 7-6.
