Paris Saint-Germain Secure Portuguese Striker Gonçalo Ramos from Benfica

According to reports from L’Équipe, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has successfully reached agreements on all aspects of the signing of Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos from Benfica. The 22-year-old forward had been on the radar of the Ligue 1 champions for some time, and earlier reports last week suggested that personal terms with Ramos had already been agreed upon.

Having pursued various center-forward targets during the summer transfer window, including names like Harry Kane, Victor Osimhen, Dušan Vlahović, and Rasmus Højlund, PSG has ultimately secured the services of the Portugal international. Notably, Ramos showcased his goal-scoring prowess with a memorable hat-trick against Switzerland in the World Cup knockout stages last year.

The deal will see Gonçalo Ramos join PSG initially on a loan agreement, but it includes an almost obligatory permanent clause. The young striker is anticipated to arrive in the French capital during the upcoming week.

The negotiations were reportedly led by under-pressure sporting advisor Luís Campos, who played a crucial role in the deal, particularly due to his close relationship with Ramos’ agent, Jorge Mendes.

As for the financial aspects of the agreement, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano reveals that the total fee amounts to €80 million, which will be structured as a €65 million guaranteed sum, supplemented by an additional €15 million in potential add-ons.

The acquisition of Gonçalo Ramos bolsters PSG’s attacking options and adds promising talent to their formidable squad. With the deal seemingly finalized, the French giants are gearing up for the new season with high hopes of achieving success both domestically and in European competitions.
